EVENT/ACTIVITY OF THE MONTH |
The Blyth Cinema was established in May 2005 in Blyth (Pop. 400) by a local community group to bring a city quality cinematic experience to residents & visitors of the Clare Valley region & beyond. We have invested in the highest quality dolby surround sound & DVD equipment (including acoustic curtaining), constructed an angled floor & new toilets, provided a candy bar (complete with popcorn & jaffas!), & purchased quality seating (for 110 persons). The building is fully airconditioned.
Movies are normally screened every Friday & Saturday evenings (we screen a new movie each Saturday, & then repeat that movie the following Fri), but we are happy to cater for group bookings at other times (eg on a week day or week night). If the group is happy to view either of the 2 current weekend movies at a mid week screening, we have an approx. limit of 25 persons; if the group request a movie of their choosing (subject to availability), we have a minimum of approx. 40 (this number is negotiable). We would need 2-3 weeks notice to arrange for that movie to be sent to us by our distributor.
